Inside my

Journey

HELLO!

I have graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSS) in Health Economics from the University of Dhaka in May 2025. My academic interests lie in areas such as mental health, healthcare financing, maternal and child health, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and health systems and policy.

Over the course of my studies, I have gained valuable research experience. As a Research Assistant at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies, I contributed to a project focused on the inequality of out-of-pocket healthcare costs in urban and rural Bangladesh. This experience provided me with a deep understanding of the disparities in healthcare financing and access across different socioeconomic groups within the country. Additionally, I had the opportunity to intern with National Life Insurance PLC in the Health & Group Insurance Unit, where I developed a more comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry, specifically in the context of health insurance. I have also contributed to research at the ARK Foundation, which is dedicated to public health issues in Bangladesh. These research opportunities have equipped me with a diverse skill set in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, further shaping my academic interests and future aspirations.

In terms of teaching experience, I have worked as a Lecturer in Economics at West Bank College, where I had the opportunity to teach economics to undergraduate students. My teaching experience extends to the roles of IELTS Instructor and Economics Instructor at Udvash Academic & Admission Care, where I helped students improve their English proficiency and understanding of economic concepts. These roles allowed me to strengthen my communication and instructional skills while deepening my understanding of educational methodologies and the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.

Alongside my teaching and research endeavors, I have also worked as an academic content writer through Upwork, where I provided services such as blog writing, literature reviews, and data analysis. This freelance work allowed me to refine my writing skills and adapt to various writing styles, while also expanding my knowledge across different academic fields and topics.

Beyond my academic and professional experiences, I am committed to community development and social service. In 2021, I founded the Musapur Students’ Forum, an initiative aimed at promoting education and health in rural communities. This forum has been instrumental in improving access to educational resources and healthcare information in underprivileged areas. In addition, I have been actively involved in extracurricular activities, including serving as the captain of the Health Economics Cricket Team and being a founding member of the Health Economics Sports Club. These experiences have fostered teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.

My academic background, coupled with my research and teaching experiences, has provided me with a solid foundation in health economics. I am passionate about applying this knowledge to improve health systems, healthcare financing, and policy development in Bangladesh. Moving forward, my goal is to contribute to the field of health economics through further research, teaching, and policy initiatives, ultimately working towards improving healthcare accessibility and equity for all, particularly in underserved populations.
