Health Insurance: Bachelor Final Year Survey (January 2024)

Title: Health Insurance Scheme for the students of the University of Dhaka

In my research, I surveyed 180 students from various departments at the university to gauge their knowledge, awareness, and attitudes toward the health insurance scheme. The results were enlightening. While 66% of respondents were aware of the scheme, a significant portion lacked detailed knowledge about how to access its benefits. This highlighted the need for more targeted outreach and educational campaigns to raise awareness and improve engagement. The majority of students believed the health insurance scheme was beneficial, with 87% agreeing that it had significantly reduced their healthcare costs.

However, the study also identified several challenges. Many students reported difficulties with the claims process, citing issues such as a lack of awareness about the procedures … …

Role: Research Contributor at BRAC (November 2021 – March 2022)

Title: Application of Linear Programming in Management of Private Hospital/Clinic

The main objective of this project was to evaluate the various operational challenges faced by private hospitals and clinics and identify how Linear Programming could be applied to optimize resource allocation, improve operational efficiency, and reduce costs. Through a detailed survey of several private hospitals, I gathered data on a wide range of variables, including hospital staff composition, patient care services, financial management, and technological resources.

I began by collecting essential information about the hospitals, such as the number of departments, doctors, nurses, and other support staff. This data provided insights into the staffing requirements and allowed me to analyze the doctor-patient ratio, doctor-nurse ratio, and patient-care personnel balance, which are critical factors in delivering high-quality healthcare. Additionally… …

Recent Research

Research 1

Research Intern at Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (April 2025 – June 2025)

One of my primary responsibilities was conducting extensive literature reviews to support the research objectives of our projects. I reviewed a wide range of academic papers, reports, and policy documents to gather insights relevant to our research topics. This process involved synthesizing existing knowledge, identifying gaps in the literature, and framing the research questions in the context of ongoing debates in the field. My research on healthcare financing, urban health, and socio-economic disparities was pivotal in ensuring that our studies were informed by the latest findings and best practices.

Once data was collected, I played a key role in analyzing it using statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, and R. I employed various quantitative techniques to assess the relationships between socio-economic factors and healthcare expenditures, focusing on the effects of income levels, educational attainment, and geographic location… …

Research 3

Research Contributor at ARK Foundation (November 2021 – March 2022)

One of the notable papers I reviewed was titled “The Demand for Child Curative Care in Two Rural Thanas of Bangladesh: Effect of Income and Women’s Employment” by Ann Levin and others. This paper aimed to explore the determinants of child healthcare-seeking behavior in rural Bangladesh, with an emphasis on income levels, women’s employment, and healthcare access. I analyzed the methodologies used in the study, which included data collected from over 2,000 households with children under ten, to understand how socio-economic factors influence healthcare utilization. The findings indicated that children from wealthier households were more likely to receive care, while socio-economic disparities and logistical barriers, such as longer travel times, hindered access to care for children in lower-income households.

Another one was “The Demand for Maternal and Child Health Care Services in Sub-Saharan Africa” by Solomon Mwije. This review highlighted the challenges and gaps in maternal and child healthcare demand in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in rural and impoverished areas… …
